Mommy Tips

TIP ONE: Start your morning off with a smile! Every morning I wake up my kids by saying "time to make the donuts!"  it's silly but they love it and it starts our day off with a smile! Waking up happy is a great way to start the day!

Keeping a positive attitude is extremely contagious!

TIP TWO: Practice patience throughout your day. You will never be perfect at this, but try to catch yourself when you are being impatient. You might be in line at the grocery store or stuck in traffic, but when you feel you are losing your patience, try and get it back. Remind yourself, that these moments can be a time for reflection, in slowing down and being “in the moment”. Rather than getting sucked into the negative aspects of being impatient, choose to be patient. Just try it, even if it just works half the time, that’s half the time that you’re not letting yourself get all stressed out.

TIP THREE: Never miss a chance to say "I am proud of you" When you see them doing something great say it! It will inspire them to be even BETTER next time, knowing it is being noticed!

The best fun is FREE FUN !

* pack a picnic with your kids, let them help with the sandwiches!

Have them make the sandwiches with you! It might be mess but worth it! Have them help you clean it!

Play some soccer or a game of TAG!

Play and get in a GREAT workout!

I love to play with my kids! We play active games like soccer, swimming, tag and love me some hula hoop! These are fun & great cardio. Your kids will LOVE you for it and you feel like a BEST MOM!

I love to get creative when playing with my kids. Here is an obstacle corse we did in my studio! It was FUN!

 Try to be always available

Give your kids the impression that you are always willing to help them out with anything at all. Whether its school related like homework or assignments to personal problems, let them know that you are always ready to lend an ear or to extend a helping hand.

Learn as you go
Parenting is a skill that is mastered through time. Learn from your mistakes, and try to respond positively to a negative situation. Even if you had a bad day, take it as a learning experience that can help you become a better mom to your kids.

Spoil your kids with love and encouragement
You can never go wrong if you shower your kids with love through hugs, kisses, your time.  I let my children know when I notice something great they did. It makes them so proud and happy to be appreciated and it  inspires them to continue to be better!

 Take care of yourself too

Squeeze in time for you. I only had 20 minutes, and for me that is what I needed to be a better Mom. Sometimes you just need five minute to re-group and feel refreshed!

Taking a moment to STOP in the middle of a hectic moment just to LISTEN to your child means so much to them. It's something we should all do more often! When we do STOP and listen we are happy we did!

Why listening is so important!

  • Listening carefully is how you gather information about what's going on in your child's life and head.
  • Listening effectively builds strong relationships.
  • Listening thoughtfully shows respect.
  • Listening is always the first step in solving problems.
  • Listening to your child's perspective will teach you a lot. Kids are smarter than most grown-ups think, and they generally know what they need. Listen to your kids, and they will teach you how to raise them.
